We are just in the process of submitting our EOI under the skilled migrant category.

Under the section 'family'. To what extent do you need to list family members? :?

Should we include our parents, brothers/sisters etc or should we just list us and our dependant children?

The form is a little ambiguous. :wah

Cheers

Amanda.

I orginally only included my direct family i.e. hubby and kids but when I spoke to my case officer she said list all your brothers, sisters and parents of the main applicant too, we amended the details on the ITA. So don't worry if you get it wrong on the ITA you have a chance of putting it right.

Hope this helps

WE were advised to list all siblings whole and half blood and adopted and parents/ step parents if alive. You also have to put down siblings partners if married or state that they have not been married. Very long winded I know but NZIS want to know anyone who you may at a later date possibly sponsor.

Thanks for asking the question. We were just filling that part out today and it never occurred to us that they meant anything other than immediate family - on reading through, you're right (although it is very ambiguous and not made at all clear!). We've added parents/siblings etc now, so at least that won't delay us!! Well spotted!

Just as a point if it's not too late. We were advised to include any living grandparents aswell.
I think they want to understand what potential followers you may have once you can act as sponsor to bring them all over too (although that may just be paranoia!)

As I understood it if, in the future, you wanted to sponsor a family member over to NZ that wasn't mentioned on your EOI / ITA, you'd have more difficultly - i.e mention all those that you can.

Be aware that you can add / remove from this list once you receive your ITA - when we did our EOI we put no-one down in the family section as we merely filled in the sections that gave us points (meant a bit more work at ITA stage, but at least it could still be amended!).

Thank you all for your help in this. :clap

Can I just check one more thing though. If we put down Eric's siblings (I have none) should we also include their partners and children??? :?

Will be adding these tonight and hopefully submitting straight away although it is good to hear we can amend at ITA stage. Hopefully we will then be selected in next weeks selection. :P

Thanks again

Amanda

Have to say, we did put down our siblings partners and kids but we didn't go as far as to put down their partners family - otherwise could end up in the genealogy hall of records :laugh

Hi Amanda. My OH put his parents and siblings, but not his siblings' spouses and children. I put no one, since my parents have passed away. Our EOI and ITA went through fine that way. Of course, it doesn't hurt to put more instead of less! And I heard the same thing Moorf said -- that if you want to sponsor relatives to come to NZ later, it's easier if you included them on the ITA.

OOPS, we too thought only direct family... just the two kids..

Our EOI has been selected already .. so do we need to wait for the NZIS to send the ITA, or can we (are we allowed) make changes now do you think?

Hannah - you can't amend it once selected, you'll need to wait until you get the ITA and then add in the remaining family.
