Saw a job vacancy on the Chch City Council's website which I thought might interest some forumites.... particularly because it appears to be focussed on those who are not in NZ as well as those that already are:

Within the Christchurch City Council several Business Units employ Planning professionals to provide expert advice and consultation to our customers and to the Council. We employ individuals in a variety of fields including:

Urban and/or Regional planning
Resource Management
Landscape Architecture
Environmental Planning
Leadership or Management positions
