Anyone know when the school holidays July 2007 should be,

Promised we would plan to come back for my brothers wedding and they are trying to set the date.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jo - we have another week at school....then the holidays are from 11th July - 22nd July.

Are you talking about the school holidays in the Uk or Nz and for which area - some schools in the uk finish/start the hols before others and some are now only having 4 weeks in the summer and 2 weeks for all the other holidays through the year.

Usually they start mid July around the 3rd week and return to school the first week Sept.

The whole set up has changed from 2006 with a week's holiday being added in August, the school year starting later and not finishing until almost Christmas. This is not popular with a lot of people in education and I understand that there are moves underway to at least scrap the August week in favour of finishing earlier in December, so things may change.

(The August week has been put in so that schools aren't disrupted by various national sports tourniments which take place at that time. But school principles are arguing that only a small percentage of kids are involved so it isn't worth changing the whole school year just to suit them, and some teachers are saying that they're bu@@ered if they're going to take kids to the events during their holidays. Good on 'em.)

Thanks, just have to hope that she can tie in the wedding to those dates.

Is there any real problems about taking kids out for a few days in term time.
