I can't believe it, we only got selected on the 15th September and we were phoned this morning to say it's been succsessful :nice1 and a letter will be sent outlining the next phase.

I've been on a real downer lately, thinking it will take ages, but hopefully this means we've all been worrying over nothing.

Manawatu here we come!

Hi Caven

Well done.

How did you manage to get processed so quickly do you have a job already.

Moorf
27th September 2004, 11:56 PM
Phoned!! Wow...

Surely the letter is the usual letter sent 14 days after selection outlining what will happen next?

Hey Caven - I am confused - on another thread you say you have now received your ITA.... you mean you have already been sent the big pack etc etc? Do you have jobs sorted as this is one hell of a fast track application!!!! i.e. from selection to getting your Invitation pack in 13 days?!!!

:eek

Yes

Still feeling a bit groggy and not quite right yet. It would help if the weather was a bit warmer :( - how is it in Chch?

Moorf
28th September 2004, 12:27 AM
Here in Chch just had a boooootiful weekend - clear skies and highs of 20 - today was okay but a little chilly in the afternoon and now it's freeeezing outside (I should now, just been out for a fag!) and snow expected on hills tonight... no rain though :nice1

Hello there,

Congratulations Moorf, next stop moderator I think!!

No, we haven't got the pack yet, just a phone call this morning to say the EOI has been approved. I've checked on the site and it says succsessful, so happy days! I thought it would take much longer than this to hear anything at all and was so excited I had to post straight away! We're just walking around the house grinning like idiots at the moment.Bit of shock too, like"Oh s##t, this is really happening now".

Hello Nicola and Jesselyn,

Yes, I've got a job offer and 165 points (Hope my full assessment, as opposed to preliminary, holds up :eek )

Moorf, go to bed!! :laugh I totally envy you, sleepless in Christchurch beats the hell of sleepless in Cumbria!

Thanks for letting me know re points and job offer.

We have 120 points and no job. Peter my partner will not let me start applying for jobs until we have PR.

What line of work are you in. I am in IT, a Systems Builder (which is a coverall title which means my company can get me to do any work from Consultant through Systems Analyst and Programmer to Test manager).

Good luck I hope everything goes smoothly with the move.

Hello Jo,

Congratulations! It's quite a shocker isn't it? You wait all this time for it to come and when it does it flips you all over. A bit like surfing. (Did I just type that?)

Hi Nicola,

Not in I.T., no, but with your qualifications I imagine you could video conference yourself a job in no time. Is travelling over there for interviews the issue with your partner? It shouldn't matter, 120 should see you through anyway. I might lose points myself yet, I won't believe it until I'm there! :laugh

Congratulations Caven :clap
We got selected on 15th but no job offer so probably be well down the list on 105 points but who cares, at least we are one of the lucky ones.
Good luck and hope the assessment goes OK.

Whew - taking a LONG time to catch up with these posts!!

Congrats Caven - that job offer is obviously the key to getting your application processed super-quick!! We are on 120 pts with no job but hoping that when a job is found we will be rocketed to the top of the pile too!! :hopeso

I know what you mean about stomach doing a flip when you realise it is for REAL!!! I felt quite sick for the whole 2 weeks prior to leaving - especiallly as we are "Just doing it" with no job etc - and believe me, you are in for more stomach flipping when you have to start spending money out here :?
