Hello folks,

Have trawled the net but cannot find the answer so am hoping that someone here knows this one. When we arrived in Feb, we bought with us all our household stuff (ahem!) except......quite a bit that I didn't think we would have space for!

Anyway, we have now bought a house, we do have the space and we want to bring it out - mainly actually bedding, towels, kitchenware and a teeny tiny bit of furniture. Are we allowed to bring a second shipment in or will we have to pay duty on it? Or do we have to move fast - I thought in the back of my mind there might be a time limit on it?

Thanks guys.

Sarah.

We bought a second shipment in under exactly the same circumstances without a problem or any questions. There was about 6 months between each arriving. In the second shipment we even included new items (which a family member purchased for us), these were still in their original packaging etc.

Hope this is of help.

Amanda

Thanks Amanda.

So when you got the paperwork from the shipping company did you still just tick a box saying permanent resident bringing stuff in? I am hoping to get my mother to deal with all the paperwork at the UK end - did you get someone else to do it or do it yourself?

Thanks alot for answering, I had better get onto it straight away as it is already 6 months since we arrived and 3.5 months since the first container arrived, I have a distant memory that there is a time limit on it....

Sarah.
