Hi everyone, particulary Wayne and Frances who have made me got off my behind and agree to a meet .
Saturday would be cool for us ,what about an evening drink as the weather is supposed to be good? We thought maybe 6pm at the Punch as we mentioned that before?
Everyone who can get to the pub is of course welcome .I have pm'd Paul and Laura as they are in Greenhill.

Great stuff, I 'll try to persuade Paul to wear his rather fetching NZ hat, you won't miss us then!
If anyone else out there wants to join us please let us know and we will give you full details.

Well I look like an ageing hippy with my hair. I was going to say look out for the child with her arm in plaster, but my daughter had the cast taken off yesterday so that's no good.
I could get always get Steve my husband to wear his favourite t-shirt - very downmarket - its from the Sweeney and says "put your knickers on and make us a cup of tea luv". He always gets noticed by the old dears wearing this - but then again perhaps he better not stand out in the crowd too much :laugh

Paul has a Peter Kay t shirt which says
Booked it!
Packed it!
****ed off!
He wore it all the way to NZ (to the amusement of many of the airport staff!) but refuses to wear it again until we fly back!
He also has a Speights T shirt which we brought in Chch which is folded carefully away in tissue paper until he can have a Speights whilst wearing it , so sad our men!
Looking forward to Saturday

On a serious note, how are we going to recognise each other. Should we meet in the car park, play area etc???

jade NZ fishhook pendant
You'll get drummed out of NZ in disgrace if you call it jade. Over there it goes by the highly complicated name of 'greenstone'.
Joking apart folks - hope you have a wonderful time this evening and that your Herne Bay meets go the same way as our NW meetings have ..... and that's from strength to strength. You'll get so much out of them.
Here's hoping you all have a grand old time. :cheers

Just to confuse the greenstone/Jade issue I bought mine from the Jade factory in Rotorua. The weathers hot & sunny, for our meeting later. :cool Trudy

Frances.
I WANT THAT T-SHIRT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I reckon you'd make a mint selling it on e-bay ..... but please let me have first refusal.
That is exactly the kind of thing that Mark would say ..... (not wanting to let you into too many secrets of course).
Any pics of yesterday's meeting?

Hi Diny, Sorry no pics, no-one bought a camera. The five kids all got on fine though. We sat outside and they played on the climbing frame and were in and out of the pub to play in the ball pool. Denise's kids picked up on my kiwi accent though and were a bit puzzled :laugh Regards Trudy

Confession time - took my camera but forgot to use it!
Had a really enjoyable time apart from those blasted midges. Spent the last half hour with my hand in front of my mouth as one flew in my mouth!!!
It was really nice to hear first hand about life in New Zealand. Don't know how I missed it, but up until last night I didn't know Trudy was actually a Kiwi. Accent was great.
George and Rose loved Denise and Paul's kids. As we left Rose was trying to remember Megan's phone number.
Drove home with George in particular very enthusiastic about going to NZ. When I think back 6 months ago he wasn't keen at all. Only one small problem about going to NZ which I will do a separate post for.
Denise and Paul - Thanks for bringing the photos and really great to see you all.

Denise, I was up early as I am usually out of bed by 6.30 am as I start work at 8am during the week, & wake up at the same time at the weekends. I've been busy washing curtains & bedding today, it's all packed up ready to go now. :nice1 Regards Trudy
