JoThink you're right Jo.

My wife was working in London today, very near to Russell Street where one of the explosions happened. Fortunately her meeting was brought forward to 7.30am at the last minute, which meant she missed the mayhem. She was holed up in a hotal for most of the day and, thank God, she's now safely on her way home.

I've probably gone into the emigration thing a little bit tentatively up to now (more my wife's burn than mine) but I think this has sealed it for me. I can't contemplate the thought of my 4 kids growing up in the UK the way things are going. :(

Congratulations to you - the feelings great when you get that message.

We were selected on 8th June and OH has a job offer which he needs to take up in September. We haven't heard anything since and it's driving me mad......

Looks like he may have to get a work visa so that he can go. I didn't realise that it would take so long once you had a job offer, maybe I was beling naive. I contacted the immigration service and they said it could take up to 8 weeks to verify everything and then another 4 months before the ITA arrived....I'll be a deserted wife at this rate.....keep joking that OH will pick us up at the airport in AKL and he'll have acquired a bead necklace and tattoo!

Hi all

Thanks for the congratulations and all...would like to say we spent the evening celebrating...but two of the children are sick so we were tied up with them!

Have also spent the morning on the telephone and internet checking on family and friends in London. Best wishes to all who have family and friends involved in these attrocities.

Well yes the waiting game starts, but at least for us we are already here and working, and residency will just complete things for us and make our settled life here in NZ even more settled! A bit like the icing on the cake!

I spoke to one of Eric's colleagues this morning who has just received his ITA, 9 weeks after selection! How long are others already here in NZ waiting for their ITA to arrive??? It says when I log in to NZIS about 2-4 weeks....is this accurate????

Well best wishes and good luck to everyone who is waiting just like we are.

Yay for you guys!! :clap :clap We were told by our immigration guy that NZIS has really been on the ball recently and that they are getting the ITA's processed very quickly at the moment, especially if you have a job offer or are presently in NZ. Congrats all around! :nice1

Nice one Amanda :clap .
Mind it's just the begining of the stressful bit. But at least you have done the really hard it, and are over here. How are those lovely boy's of yours? I hope Eric is well.
Just taken delivery of 10 chickens  .
Will have to meet up for a celebration coffee when visas arrive , and the boys can have a big cookie each ;)
Take care - Chips

Wow Amanda, that's brilliant news. Congratulations. :nice1

You can get certified copies of the marriage and birth certs from the registrars office where the event occurred, try this http://www.gro.gov.uk and search for your relevant office. It's less expensive if you get them from the office where the event occurred and if you have someone in the UK that can go in there with all the details, they should do it while you wait.

You'll need the 'long' birth certificate that shows parents names and this is £5.50 (I'm sure) marriage cert is the same price.
Hope this helps
