I am looking for some recommendations!

My parents arrive on a late flight with SA, and so I am looking for a hotel, close to the airport that does a 24 hour transfer service.

They just want somewhere to get a bit of sleep before they fly up the following lunchtime to Whangarei.

Something 3 or 4 star would be good, nothing too fancy but better than the Oakwood Manor where we stayed earlier in the year (filthy!!) :eek

I'd also be very interested in the response to this as I'm looking for the same thing - parents coming over at Xmas (mother who thinks she can drive up to Paihia after 29 hours of flying :uhoh bless her - she has no clue what our 'motorways' are like!!) & have suggested they overnight at Auckland airport & drive up early next morning. Same 3-4 star Copthorne or similar type place (maybe with room service as they'll probably be up at 3am wanting breakfast knowing them!)

We've just booked a motel for a week on Sunday. Same requirements really, landing late at night, want somewhere to crash so we can re-charge our batteries ready for the next day.

Don't know what it's like but the web page looks good. Spoke to these guys on the phone and they were sooooooooo helpful. The Maori guy who answered had me in stitches. (No - I couldn't see him but once you've heard a strong Maori accent you won't forget it).

Anyway, we have a family room which comes complete with 'kitchenette', queen size bed and 2 singles. They operate a 24 hour airport shuttle. They've given us a freephone number, we just have to call it any time and they'll be with us within a few mins. They are very close to the airport.

Hi Diny

Eric's boss uses BK Pioneer regularly and recommended them to us. However when I phoned to book for us earlier in the year they told me they only did a shuttle until midnight and then from about 6am. Which is why we booked elsewhere and why I was looking for something else for Mum and Dad as their flight gets in about 11.30pm.

Have they extended their shuttle service to 24 hour now?

Maybe I'll give them a call in the morning...off to bed now.

Try the Centra Hotel which is near the Airport. Stayed a few times.

If you need to know if they have a 24 hr shuttle etc let me know and I can ring them.
