As some of you know, I came over on a holiday visa. I was offered my job even though they knew I hadn't even put in my application for my work permit and were willing to wait for me :) I went to Immigration in Henderson on Friday last to hand in my Residency application and thought I could just get a work permit whilst I was there :eek They've stopped doing this :wah I then had to make a separate application for a work permit. I was advised by someone on UK2NZ to make a folder and index everything neatly in order to speed up the process. This I did, for both applications and handed them in on Monday. AND........ I rang this morning and my work permit has been granted :)) :)) :)) I'll get it early next week. The girl I spoke to at Immigration said she'd never known an application to go through so quickly. I'm hoping I'll be as lucky with the PR application.

So. I start work on Monday. Back to early mornings and hello to early evenings :clap

My hubby and I also came here on tourist visas and went through the same process like you, by getting work permits first while waiting for our PR application to be processed. As you could see at the bottom, the timing of our PR approval.
