hi

im new and wanna say hi to everyone

my question is how much should i expect to pay for a rental in lower hutt.

i will be gettng paid about 50,000NZD per year, and am a single UK fella, but dont know what would be a decent amount to pay for a rental, have checked out redcoats and realenz but cant work out how much i should be able to afford on my wage.

im still in the uk but have got a job in NZ and will be going over in two months, just handed my notice in today at work in the uk whoo hoo :clap

so what do you reckon how much should i expect to pay out and will i be able to afford it?

My brother has a flat he rents out in Lower Hutt (on the hill - Maungaraki maybe) which is two bed for £200 a week - so perhaps that is a good figure to aim for??

I used to rent a big 3 bed house on Tilbury St (opp hillside to Maungaraki) with gorg views for £200 11 years ago!

So maybe allow a little bit more - or less if you are prepared to share - there are always loads on houses to share the rent on - check out

they usually have rental properties

Also check out the Dominion Post on a Saturday morning - they have tonnes of rentals in there in the Welly area too. :nice1

hey thanks baboonworld and sarahw

it hard thinking about the change of income into NZD rather than pounds sterling. So wha im thinking is if im geting 50,000NZD per annum wha amout should i put aside for accommodation, really after a 2 bedroom house/flat/apartment/unit within walkig distance to lower hutt hospitas.

thanks for the responses already
