I see info on IPT, but can't seem to find more about experiences with American pet shippers. If you used a pet shipper from the US, please post your feedback.

Hi. I'm guessing no one's around who's used a pet shipper from the US, but I thought I'd ask again. I have to pick someone in the next two weeks or so, and I would feel much better if I knew what some others thought of their pet shipper.

I am using IPT right now. Our cat leaves on Aug 2 so I have not completed the process with them yet.

I think everything is going fine. We have had some problems with our vet not returning paperwork on time but this is not really IPT's fault. To my knowledge though everything is OK at this point so our cat should be shipping out on time at the price they quoted us.

Whoever you go with make sure you stay on top of things, often I think problems come up because of the vet or the lab not returning things on time. Make sure to keep on both the shipper and vet to make sure things get done on schedule. If lab results are late or need to be redone that will screw up the ship dates.

I'll try and remember to post an update when all is done but that will probably not be for a whlie. We are out of our house in a week and fly in 4 weeks so communication is going to get harder.

I did speak to IPT and was impressed by them. I had a thorough, 45-minute conversation with the rep about all the details. We are doing everything ourselves for cost reasons (2 dogs + 2 cats = $$$) but we may ask them to verify what we've done and supervise the transfer from one plane to another in LA on the way over.

BTW, don't laugh but I put together a spreadsheet with all the requirements, timing, costs. etc built in. With 4 pets, so many other things to track and the
chance of messing this up, I felt better to have it all scoped out. So, if anyone wants a copy, PM me and I'll email it to you.

Update on IPT. Our cat arrived safely in NZ about one week ago today. IPT was fine, the only problems we had were out vet screwing things up. I would use IPT again. Our cat is supposed to be fine, we are heading to NZ next week and will see her then.

Thanks all. I called and spoke with IPT and was very impressed. Since there will be so much going on in the last month when we're getting ready to move, and since I've heard the prices are quite reasonable, we will rely on them to handle the USDA vet in LA and help with the last 30 days of tests.
