I'm a family doctor in the US (Washington state) and am going to be embarking on a 6 month trip to NZ to explore and work. I'll be working for 4 of the 6 months. Haven't received my assignments yet, so I can't say as to where we'll be. We're kind of looking this as a trial for a longer term commitment.
I'm trying to learn some about the in's/out's of the NZ medical system. I've not worked in a socialized medicine system. For those who have experienced the US medical system v. NZ, what are your experiences? I know there are pro's con's to each. It will be so great to work in a place where medical care is available for all! We're thrilled to have this opportunity!
