Try getting Crown to reduce their insurance. The guy that came out to see me hinted strongly that he could get it down to about 2.5.

I have just paid our shipping and insurance today and we paid 3% and 0.10% for mould and mildew cover, we didnt insure everything in the container just the expensive stuff like my Harley , the lounge furniture, my tools etc the stuff that we WOULD have to replace , not stuff like a 9 year old tv , and the PC that could be replaced with a far better one for a lot less.
We are using Doree Bonner Int'l their man was far better and much more proffessional than the guy from White and co (who was hinting about stuff in our shed that he wanted!!!!)
Be aware that you do not have to insure everything in the container just that that you want to

You don't have to have their insurance.
I think Ali and Linda Jax used this company
http://www.lettonpercival.co.uk/contact.html
If my memory serves me right they were 1.5%
Worth checking out.

Hmmm, I wonder if one's homeowner's insurance company would cover shipping? It could be a cost-effective add-on. Will have to remember to check this out...
