So.. did you buy / borrow any books in the UK to aid your research into life in NZ?
If so, which are the good, the bad and the downright rip-offs?

We got four
Where to Live in Auckland - Excellent
A new life in New Zealand - Paul Goddard, a good enough read, but not sure it had that much valuable information in it.
Slipping into Paradise, why I live in New Zealand - Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson, we both thought the guy was a pompous twit, did not find much useful info
Going to live in New Zealand, Practical guide to life and work down under - Neilson & Collins, good book with quite a lot of factual info in it.

We've got just the one, 'Living and working in New Zealand'. We've found it really useful, it discusses finding jobs, working conditions, permits and visas to installing telephones, insurace and finances!!
Dont think we'll bother buying another, we have found almost everything else we need to know on the internet and forums such as these! Cheers guys! :nice1

Another good read was the Lonely Planet book 'New Zealand' - nothing on jobs or housing but loads on good places to go, eat, stay, wines, food, camping............
