got some good news for a change! I just checked my e mails and my invitation to apply pack is being sent to me tonight by registered post. I was selected from the pool on the 15th sept I do have a job offer. My police check which I sent for on the 6th sept also came today. Just need to sell my house so am going to drop the price by 10,000 to hopefully get rid of it.

Hi Tara sage, I dont know if its usual to get an email but yesterday they rang me and asked me to confirm where my job offer is. I told them that i would e mail all the details back later that evening so was suprised to get this so quickly.
Ian and Liz dont know about the pulse racing but certainly feel a mixture of excitment and fear.
Thanks timbo.
Hi dina thanks for the pm. Its been a hell of a week. My daughter is out of hospital and feels a little better. She is having a scan of her kidneys tomorrow and the medication has brought her blood presure down to a more acceptable level. Its a big worry though. I have the new estate agent coming round tomorrow morning to do the pics

Hi xantus thanks. I went through a nursing agency and did the interview by telephone. Best interview I ever had. wore my slippers! I havnt been to NZ and also dont know of anyone there apart from getting to know people on the forum which is really helpfull. also will be going alone with my three doggy companions so looking at it as a big adventure. My kids have both left home and are settled apart from my daughter whom was rushed into hospital on friday but the way i see it is i brought them up alone and now they are standing on there own feet and i dedicated myself to this I now want some adventure and to do something for myself for a change. Kids have given me 100% backing. My son is a lifeguard in the household cavalry and hopes to join me when he comes out of the army and my daughter wants to continue with her studies in the uk with her boyfriend then they may join me later. Mad or what!

Hi, blue,
I've followed your progress for a long while now, and it's terrific to see you so close to attaining your goal -- you've accomplished so much!! And brave (ok, or nuts!!) to strike out on your own as you have. I admire you.
Well done!!!
All the best, Rae

Hi gran thanks my son has just rang me and has broken his hand riding so is pretty fed up. He was just about to go on a course which others have waited 4yrs to do. He has only been in the lifeguards for a year so will have to wait and see if it goes ahead.
Raeven I think i am proberly nuts more than anything! Hope the grounds not moving too much for you out ther in sunny california!
Hi Caven whos ranaulph? My son has been making enquiries regarding the NZ army and is pretty keen on seriously considerering it they wont touch him though untill he has finished his service. The other option is working with horses but hes feeling slightly fed up due to breaking his hand.
Thanks jessalyn and Mellissa how is everything going for you?

Sorry if you have already mentioned this but when did you submit your EOI?
Mine went in on Aug 28 and was selected on Sept 1. A week later it read application successful. :P Unfortunately, silence after that! :wah :wah
The wait is the toughest!

Hi Jes,
I wish I was but do not have a job offer. I got selected on 110 points. Not sure what application succesful means really.
Am looking for an accounting/audit job but have been quite unsuccesful is securing one. I guess you have to be there to get one.
Am planning on going to Chch early next year if I don't get anything by then and check out what is available.
Cheers,
Caven

Hi Mike,
Follow this link and select online eoi, use the points calculator first, if over 100 you may enter the pool, register on the site, then you can enter your eoi details and update them if they change. You will need to have a credit card handy to pay the NZ$315 fee to enter the pool. You will then remain in the pool for a max of 3 months after which if NOT selected you will have to re-apply. Assuming you have over 100 points at the time of writing you should be selected fairly quickly and the process can begin. If you have a job offer in NZ this will push you ahead of those without as your points total will be higher and you will have an employer waiting. priority is given to such applications over those without job offers...which is entirely reasonable!

We went over in may to find a job. My husband is an accountant /auditor and they are very much in demand .We got in touch with some agencies who sorted out interviews for when we arrived.we also emailed his C.V to accounting firms out of the NZ yellow pages which you can access online. However no one would give us a job unseen hence our trip in may.
hope this helps.
I can find out the agencies we used if you would like

Hi Anita,
Are you already in NZ now? I see all the vacancies online but writing to them seems to be pointless. Many do not reply and those who do tell me to sort out my work permit first and then see them.
How difficult was it to get jobs and were the employers willing to wait till your husband sorted out all the immigration paper work? How long did that take?
Please find out the agencies you used, if you don't mind. That will be a big help. I might be using the "wrong" ones.
What was your experience like how long was it before your husband got a job?
Really, any lead will be of great help. :hopeso I have PMed you my email address.
Thanks a million,
