At last, a family member has left the house. OUR ITA HAS GONE. I had become so attached, I knew it inside out and back to front.
Removed from the safe (dining table), put in Gary's spotted hanky, gave him strict instructions about not losing ITA, speaking to strangers etc. Took both to the train station and waved bye bye to my identity for the day.
G has just phoned, all handed in at NZIS, checked, probably 2 small things required (both to do with his work history).
Apparently case officer will be allocated in 2 weeks ish, should take 3-4 months ish, unless G gets a job offer and then we can change queues, bit like tesco's opening a new checkout.. ....
Have already cultivated 3 small stomach ulcers and plan on progressing to larger ones in 14 days ish, along with gum boils, losing weight :clap and other signs of stress.
I'm euphoric and scared witless, at the same time. Did everyone feel like this?
:typing I'll keep busy doing this, only because I can't find a chewing nails pic.

Good luck smiler :nice1
Can you tell me what extra information was required for work history? I'm a bit concerned that area may be a stumbling block when we apply, so any info you have will help us get prepared.
Many thanks :smile

Hi Cardiff
Yes of course. I'll explain our position first. Gary is in IT and has worked as a consultant and permanent. 3 years ago, we set up our own IT company which he has run while I continued working as a Coroner's Office for a police force. 3 months ago I gave that up to join him full time as the business is expanding :clap and to prepare/pack/organise our immigration.
For our ITA, we have 3 years accounts and supplied this. We now need a letter from our accountant, easy enough.
Although we also submitted copies of G's qualifications, CV and last 6 years of employment contracts, however, NZ man said we will need a letter from National Power where G left 10 years ago. I'm sure that will be easy as well.
The great plan in applying for PR was to take the business with us and register everything in NZ, paying taxes, employing others at some stage, etc. We think however that it will be better for G to get a 'proper job' and I will run the business at least for 2-3 years.
The only downside on that will mean he will have to be in Welly or Akl ( and I guess that means me too). :laugh We had intended to get to Hawkes Bay instead.
They seem like little things when I write them down, a couple of letters :? but I guess they are easily obtained.
I guess the best thing is to submit all qualies etc going back at least 10 years and anything else you think may be relevant. They can always ask for more but I would rather have given them that at the start.
Hope this helps some. Sorry about the long post.

Thanks Deborah. Yes, that's very helpful. My concern is that I've been largely self-employed for most of my career (in surveying), but I haven't practiced as a surveyor since about 1997. I've long since chucked out all the financial records (I do have a set of accounts for 1996 and 1997) and I'm not sure about getting letters from accountants as I didn't leave on the best of terms with them.
I was thinking that I might go to the RICS for verification, but I suspect from what you've said that they may need more than that :no Oh dear, it felt like it was all going so well!!!

Smiler, It looks like you have jumped the queue ahead of us! :? NZIS have had our ITA 6 wks (no job ofer) we were sent the confirmation letter the following day stating a CO would be allocated within the next month and should be finalised within the next 3-4 mths. THEN today we received an identical letter telling us that it was with the queue manager and that we would be allocated a CO within the next TWO months :eek :eek :eek
Perhaps it is a postcode lottery thing or maybe the cleaner disturbed the queue managers pile and knocked the lot to the floor :eek :laugh
I think I will be making a phone call tomorrow :uhoh :( I'm not having the best of weeks, but I wish you all the best :nice1
