Well done you for being so organised and good luck with the move.

We are heading over at about the same time, but we still have not booked the flights. Waiting for contracts to be exchanged on the house. Althought they would like to move in a fortnight today, so they better get a move on.

Hope everything goes smoothly for you and you enjoy the one night in Hong Kong.

Thanks all for the good wishes :nice1 I'm sure the next few weeks will be a total whirl; I'm still busy with work and we have someone staying the 1st 2 weeks in Aug, so not much time to start cleaning outdoors stuff and getting organised :?

Re the horse, yes I must be mad - it's costing a small fortune. Lets just say I could buy a car instead :eek :eek But, she's part of the family! :yes

Congratulation :clap :clap :clap
All the best for the big day.
My curiosity is killing me, how do you go about shipping a horse???
Do they have special flights that carry them, can't imagine that there would ever be a horse in the lower hold whilst Im, sat in economy wandering if I'll ever feel my legs again.
Are they passported the same as dogs and cats?
I know you have so much to do these last weeks that answering the rambellings of a deranged women is the last of your priorities but if you have a mo. I'd love to know.
Again :nice1 well done. Safe journey for your family (special wishes to the horse).

Well, racehorses and competition horses get shipped all the time, so these people seem to be experts - I hope :laugh
They get shipped cargo, in a 'crate' with 2 other horses. The space per horse is about that of a section in a horse trailer / horsebox. They get loaded into the crate and shut in, then the crate gets lifted up into the cargo plane! They have a professional flying groom with them, keeping an eye on them.

I take it you mean in NZ? Well, I'm hoping that the transporters will be able to take her *somewhere* in the Waikato, hopefully the Cambridge area, as that's where we'll be based searching for property :cool Ultimately we'll have our own land and lots more horses :nice1 :yes

Sounds great and Cambridge will be a great place for horses. I thought I was bad enough taking my two hounds and 4 cats. My cat family sort of increased by 3 recently so are going to be added expense but they have become part of the family!

Hi Dinnaefash

The landlady of the house we rented in Cambridge runs a spread of over 300 hundred horses between Cambridge and Morrinsville. If you like we could always ask her where you could stable the horse.

Drop us a line if we can be of any help. We know the Cambridge area very well, although we now have our own place in Morrinsville.
