Hi all, we were hopefully going to exchange contracts on our property next week, due to useless solicitors, we do not have a clue when our buyers chain want to exchange with them. i have pestered them all week but they tell me that their solicitors just keep saying things are going ok but fail to mention dates. :no
Without swearing, what a bunch of idiots! Why can't they communicate with other solicitors via phone, all I get is we will write to them.
No doubt this is not just me, I bet it happens to everyone. Fingers crossed we will exchange soon and I can then put my months notice in! :exit
Cheers
Nick

Good luck Nick. We're just starting the infuriating business of selling a house in England. So far of three booked viewings we've had two no-shows. You scurry around tidying, stop the kids pulling out their toys (bear in mind they're only 2 and 3 so have no idea why I'm suddenly Mean Mummy from Hell) and then the "£"$!%%$ don't even have the decency to let you know they can't be bothered turning up. ARGGHHHH.

Can't wait to get to the stage of 'not exchanging' and 'not completing'!!

Nick Good luck too.

I've always thought how much easier it could be if they picked up the phone.

I guess they write to justify their HUGE bill, they dictate the letter, PA types it on parchment, goes into post etc. Solicitor the other end does it all again for even more money.

All instead of a 10 p phone call :?
