:clap Had two nice men, Andy & Darrell here all day packing up all our stuff. They work really hard and are so quick at packing! They are from Doree Bonner Removals. Keep the kettle on for coffee for them as they drink gallons of it! They are coming back on Monday to load it into the container from UK :exit NZ. Everything is labelled with our name/destination on it and each package has its own number. Good stuff. Trudy

Wow. Does it make it all more real seeing it all packed in boxes?? Good luck with the rest of the move.

Hi Trudy
Glad to hear it's all going so well. :clap
An anal question sorry, does the package number relate to your shipment or a list of stuff.
I'm already having nightmares about being surrounded by boxes and unpacking all them to find a little thing I'm looking for. :uhoh

You can't always record everything that is in each box and the packers move too fast to keep up with them.
A good technique is to try and keep a record of which cupboard/drawer contents go into which box. We all know where things were in our old house (apart from the one thing you need that you can't find when you need it). That way you have a fair idea of what is in each box.
The packers may think that you are keeping an eye on them but if you explain what you are trying to do then they will be fine about it.
Knowing that the top and middle shelf of the cupboard in the kitchen is in box '87' at least gives you a start.
It worked for us. :yes :yes :yes

Each box is labelled with our name, shipping firm and destination. It is also written in black pen on each box/package. Each one has a number which corresponds to a carbon sheet itemising the main contents of the box.
Denise, the camping in our own home has begun! You should see us sitting around our plastic garden table in the lounge eating our meals. Bought a whole dinner set from Tesco's value range, under £7, so very cheap looking to use for the next two weeks. :laugh Trudy
