Yikes. I got my pre-assessment results back from NZQA today and it wasn't pretty. I was evaluated to be at a level 0! I am a licensed hairstylist for almost 10 years, and I have owned and operated in my own salon for the last 4 1/2. This can't be right can it?

Anyone have any thoughts? I have contacted a beauty school and the governing organisation over the hairdressing community, but I haven't heard back yet.

How about a setting up your own business visa?

Not sure how they work as it was not an option for us, but sure I saw a relocation show with someone who was in a similar industry and thats how she got in?

Where theres a will theres a way.....

Hi, my sister in law was told by NZIS or possibly an immigration agent that a UK NVQ2 was not good enough but that NVQ3 was sufficient as a hairdresser.

I don't know if you can find equivalent US qualifications.
