Hi, :hi
Has anyone been skiing to the Taupo Area? Does anyone have any recommendations on good Ski Schools for total beginners? and Gear Hire, Accomodation etc etc? Also is there a better time to go?
Thanks

How about prices of equipment verses the UK?
We have all the clothes but always in the past have hired the equipment.
I always thought it was easier than lugging 5 lots of stuff through the airport.
When we get to NZ have promised the kids thier own stuff, but would we be better off getting it now and putting it in the container?
Have fun out there, hopefully we'll join you next season. :cool

If you can get it cheap or second hand get it in the UK if there are any deals going, or try for good second hand from ebay or the like
Although I am in the ski industry I have been surprised at how expensive it is here in relation to peoples wages generally.

Veronica,
I'd like to take up skiing, is there anything in particular I should look out for on eBay? I mean I don't have a CLUE what equipment I will need, but I like the idea of getting stuff cheaper in the UK :nice1
I'm sure the boys will want to have a go as well, being keen skateboarders.Cheers,
John.

Just flew back from Auckland to Wellington and I saw the snow capped mountain just rising above the clouds. It wsa so majestic, all that white peaking above the white clouds.

We are going shortly and its my first trip. Bought a pair of Columbia Ski pants for $150 and got all my thermals from Katmandu at $20 down from $60 in the sale. Gloves were $45 again in the sale. There is stuff on trade me but sale stuff is similar price if you want reasonable quality. As usual over here if you get stuff in the sale its ok
Ski school, lift pass and ski hire is $72 per day at Ruapehu.
