They must see it all the time - they know that everyone is desperate to have some news and they can't possibly object to it. Let's hope you get news pretty soon - I'm sure you will.

Today, we got back our passports including the famous blue stickers:raebanana :raebanana :raebanana
After so many months on this project, this is so great. On top of that somebody made an offer on the house and we got several quotes from shipping companies,... This just leaves the car to get rid of.
So this week, we are going to:
-Sign the paperwork with the shipping company: it is going to be Crown; good customer service so far, good documentation, and they have offices and storage facilities in Christchurch i.e. we deal with the same company from here to CHC.
-Fill in the forms to open a bank account with the National Bank of NZ and with HIFX so that we can transfer money to CHC before our arrival.
-Book our tickets to NZ: we should fly to Christchurch the weekend 12/13 Nov 2005.
-Find the accommodation for the first few weeks.
-Chase recruitment companies and trying to be as proactive as possible in order to get a job.
Next week:
-Give my notice at the office.
7 weeks to go before touch down and the prospect to skip the Irish winter.

Maith thú on getting the blue stickers! Wish you all the best in NZ! And if you do manage to sell the car, can you see if they want to buy mine as well!!?!? ;)
All the best for the next 7 weeks!

Hi Sharpblade
Congratulations and on the sale of the house. Lucky you! That's now the only thing holding us back which is very frustrating!!! We've reduced the price this week to see if that generates any more interest.
We're going to Christchurch too - whereabouts are you going? We've got a rental lined up in Sumner for late January, so I hope we make it in time! Maybe see you out there!! Good luck with all your plans.

Kate,
We have no accommodation booked yet. We are currently looking for one. I think something in North New Brighton or Sumner would be great (beach...) but we will see. The plan is to rent a house for one month or two before committing to a long term rental or a house purchase in the area we would like to settle down. This depends on the school we are going to enroll our kids.

Just wanted to bump this thread, to find out if anyone who submitted their application in August, has had an interview date yet?
We submitted ours on 17th August, (135 points - no job offer), and I'm thinking that it won't be long until we get contacted.
Just wanted to know where we were in the queue!
Cheers

Hi Tia Maria
Sorry, don't know about August, but UK June/July submissions were taking 6/7 weeks to hear about interview, so going on that, you should hear soon, depending on what part of the world you're from.
Good luck and hope you hear soon. Where are you hoping to move to?

We're hoping to fly out mid January and will eventually settle in Auckland (North Shore), my OH is in IT, and this looks the best bet for finding jobs. We will however visit Christchurch, Wellington & Rotorua on the way, hopefully taking the same amount of time as our furniture,
It will also give us a good chance to see NZ, before the serious business of settling in begins.
Where will you be, or have you already made it out there?
So far no one else seems to have submitted in Aug, might start my own August thread!

Tia maria,
we are going to submit our ITA in a a week or so, so can you either start a new thread ~(just took ages reading all this) or reply to this one once you have some news.
cheers/good luck
Kat
