Welldone Debs - really pleased for you, although a tad jealous. Wish we could get some interest in this place - I'm like Kim - waiting for the estate agent to ring all the time, but nothing..
Hope all goes smoothely for you!

Good news Debs.
Kim - think I know why the house is selling - could be the pig that's putting people off (or do you keep him outside?)

Well Done, Kiwidebs & family. Hope all runs smoothly upto October. Hopefully I won't be far behind & hubby will be out there already! :clap :clap :cheers :cheers :clap :clap
Fingures crossed for others in the same boat as us. We put price down early this month and have had a few keen viewers who have not sold yet. We have two couples who say they are interested but need to sell theirs! Keeping it on market until they've sold or should we wait until completed chain?
Any tips that you can pass on to the rest of us. I have hanging basket out the front, try to put umbrella up and cushions on patio chairs, plus coffee smell in kitchen (don't usually have time to bake bread!). We have a four bed detached. Market seems fairly quiet here in Essex.

To be honest I think we've just been a bit lucky - plus houses haven't ever really stopped selling around Bromley. Definately taking longer to sell but still plenty of SOLD signs around. We do have fresh flowers around the place all the time at the moment which look lovely. And we've cut down on the kids toys around the place. You can check out our house at http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-4321987.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy if you're interested.
I wish you luck in your house sales. For what it's worth I'd keep the house on the market till you at least had a complete chain!

Well done Debs, we have found a buyer for our house, so fingers crossed all will go smoothly now. 4 weeks on the market and we took £2000 less than the asking price as this guy's house was sold to a cash buyer. We,re hoping to be outa here by end of October.

Lovely house Debs. Your estate agent seems to have included pictures of more rooms than ours. Here's our house http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetails-6435044.rsp?pa_n=1&tr_t=buy
Did you use just one estate agent, or put it with a few? We have got our estate agent down to 1%, but are thinking of putting it up with others, however they are quoting 2-2.5%!! :?
Handed ITA in at NZ house yesterday and hubby's job starts 3rd October, so may be best to either bring price down or go with as many Estate Agents as we can!!!

If you are not happy with your pics then ask the agent to change them, and add more if you feel they should be on the web too.
Its not hard for them to do (I used to do admin on the rightmove website for the agent I worked for).

What a beautiful house you have Karen and Martyn!! Wow. I don't know what the market is like out your way but I would've thought someone would snap that up fairly quickly. It really looks lovely.
We just put ours on with one agency - at 1.5% (all three agents we got in to value the house quoted 1.5%) plus they are a solicitors as well so solicitors fees are all included. They've been pretty good so far - things seem to be moving really quickly. Got the surveyor coming in on Weds (and we only agreed to the sale on Saturday).
Good luck guys.

Always haggle with the agents they are keen to get sales in a difficult market. Also make sure you keep in regular touch and ask for updates.
Personally wouldn't go with more than two or three agents otherwise you flood the market, and try and get one of the TEAM agents involved as they do pass your details to all other TEAM agents.
Just down the road from you near Rayleigh but moving to S Benfleet soon hopefully to se if we can get settled in the UK!
Good luck!

Congrats on selling the house, and I am with everyone else on wish someone would buy mine.
1 veiwing in 1 month, will have to drop the price, but thought i would do this towards end of August, and I have been told (sorry) that Aug is a dead market, so thought remarket at the end at new price.
Like the write up on yours Debs, good way of emphasising the no chain.
Fingers crossed for all of us that there is a interest rate cut tomorrow, that should get the market going.
My plans for Oct look shaky at the moment, must sell the house.
