My boyfriend Rick and I are avid scuba divers and we have a lot of scuba cylinders, most of which we will sell before we leave. However, we would like to take 2 with us, assuming we can use them in NZ. Does anyone know if NZ accepts the inspection stamp of the US DOT or Canadian equivalent fpr pressure vessels? In other words, can we get them in the country and if so would a NZ dive shop fill our cylinders (assuming current hydro and VIP)?

I'm pretty sure they will be OK! As long as the visual and hydro tests are in date. If not you can always have them retested and stamped here! When shipping make sure the valves are removed or loosened to allow internal inpection by customs.
