The immigration guide states that a Scottish Police Clearance covers Scotland only; do I need to get in addition a clearance that covers the UK i.e. from the 'police national computer"?
I have lived in Scotland for the last 12 years, but had a 4 year stint in England before that.
Cheers

I went into my local police station and they gave me 2 forms, the Scottish one and the UK / English one. They're pretty much the same in terms of the info you fill in on them. Then take them back to the cop shop and give them a tenner; you'll get in due course a letter back from each certifying whether you have a criminal record or not. :cheers

Hi
We lived in Scotland (not far from you I believe (near Dollar)) for 5 or so years. Your best bet is to get a form from the Police Station that covers the UK National Police Computer... this then covers Scotland, England etc. Otherwise you will need to get two forms and, consequently, pay twice.
If your local police station doesn't have one then contact an English station as they seem to automatically give out the National Computer forms...

I didn't pay twice! :P The £10 fee covered both forms. I figured it was best to cover all bases and get both, rather than just the National one. :hopeso ;)
