Hi,
I am considering moving to NZ with my husband from the USA. It seems that the best route is to have a job offer to accompany our application. I believe I can obtain that job offer based on conversations with recruiters.
However I am unclear as to whether or not I am committed to remain at a job with the employer for a period of time or I will lose my ability to stay in NZ. I know that is the case in Australia if you are a "sponsored employee". Does anyone know if this is the case in NZ? Can you only work for this employer or can you also do consulting work on the side?
What happens if the job situation does not work out? I don't want to be in a position where I could lose my ability to stay in the country if a job does not pan out. Do most companies pay to move you if you coming in as a highly skilled exec. or is it usually on your dime? What are your experiences?
Thanks in advance,
Wendy
