First post on this forum so be gentle.... ..we're completely ecstatic - put the EOI in this weekend and have just looked to see that we've been selected - just how good is that!..........apologies if this has been asked before (I'm sure it has) but is there a general time frame for when we hear more?

Hi Stu&Patsy
I'll be as gentle as I can :laugh
Congratulations on the EOI (you have to have bananas for that) :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana
Times are a bit hit and miss from what I can gather, so if I were you I start preparing all the paperwork you'll need, especially checking out the dr's and prices, so that when you get the ITA you have everything in hand. Means for lower stress levels etc.
Do you have job offer, house to sell and thing that will speed up/hold up? There's masses of help on here so welcome.....

Thanks for the reply Deborah - and the dancing Bananas :laugh ..........nope no job offers - will probably sort that out once we're there but will be doing plenty of research in the meantime....the house sale will be the major headache I guess with the rest of our UK life being sold in car boot sales & ebay :clap .

We put our EoI in on 18th July and were selected 20th July.
Keep checking the NZIS web site, but still says "selected".
I keep saying to myself "It's not going to change until at LEAST August 20th.
But that doesn't stop me checking it every day ;)

Thanks Clarabell
- at the moment it looks like a choice between the Christchurch and Dunedin areas - our daughter Amy likes the look of Christchurch uni in particular & our son Zack wants to be in travelling distance of Queenstown for the snowboarding :laugh ...........as for jobs - well I've just completed my Psychology degree as a mature student so maybe something in that area, possibly a further teaching qualification when I'm there - but to be honest I'm not keeping my options too narow.
Good luck with your application - keep us informed :nice1

Welcome Stu&Patsy and congratulations. We've gone from EOI selected to decision successful in less than a month fairly recently, so it should give you a bit of an idea.
Oh, and have some of these for good measure :cheers :cheers

Hi Stu and Patsy,
Welcome and congratulations! :raebanana I'm Cardiff Irons' wife, and since we've spent a hectic few days sorting out loads of documents, arranging medicals and police checks, getting passport size photos etc etc, I would heartily endorse Smiler's suggestion to start getting it all ready. We have four children aged 17, 14, 9 and 7, and the varying ages mean almost totally different documents for each.....aaaagh! To start sussing medical prices, search for Panel Doctors on the NZ immigration website. We're all off to Dr Million in Manchester (yes, from Cardiff!) as he is literally half the price that we were quoted here in South Wales.
Good luck!

We have been quoted £90 adult medical, £45 10 and unders medical; £20 blood test (over 15) and £40 chest xray (11 and over), so your sounds v reasonable. :clap The one we were quoted in South Wales amounted to £1,350 for all 6 of us, which semed a bit on the steep side!
