When you get a quote for a container to be shipped - does the VAT come into it at all
ie do you add vat to the price?
Is it VAT exclusive as it is an export!?

Hi Baboonworld,
found this:
Removal costs are exempt from VAT if the ultimate destination is outside the EU. VAT applies at the current UK rate if you are relocating within the EU.

You only have to pay GST (VAT equivalent) on things that are brand new - if they find them. Example if you have owned a car for less than 12 months, if the case of vehicles you also have to sign a declaration saying that you will not sell it for 2 years after arricing in the country.

We didn't have to pay VAT on the amount quoted for shipping - but we DID have to pay it on the insurance (3%) which was a bit of a shock.... Anyone else??
