We've found a place in Hanmer that allows your dog to stay too :nice1

We're off to stay there this weekend, will report back - and apparently the wooded walks in the area are some of a few on the South Island on which the DOC allow dogs to be walked :nice1
Yay, we're all going on a "Summer" holiday :laugh :laugh :laugh

It was lovely. :cheers
Hanmer is really nice, not sure I could live there though :no and certainly crossed off the list for business interest.
We didn't "do" the pools this time - we just wanted a chill out weekend so nice food and drink and relaxing. I'd forgotten my togs anyway  and I felt quite ill at the suggestion that you can "hire" swimming costumes at the Pools :? GROSS!!
The accommodation was FAB - highly recommended. We had one of the townhouses as the 1 bed chalets were all fully booked. We had 2 balconies that overlooked Hanmer from high up on the hil, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, carport etc plus all mod cons for just $140 per night + $10 for Summer. Could easilly get a large family in there and it's $15 extra per person.
Great place for dogs - most of the local walks allow dogs too :nice1 There was a Sled Dog race planned - obviously when it was planned they figured they'd have snow  so instead of pulling sleds they were pulling all sorts of wheeled contraptions and the sledges were left in the car park :?
We're going to go back later in Sept and "do" the Springs. Hopefully when it's nice and cold, it was baking hot up there at the weekend.
We drove up Lewis Pass a little too... we'll leave that and the West Coast for another trip :nice1
