I have an HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. The NZQA guide syas they need to see transcripts, mark sheets or academic records for each year of study.
All I have is the certificate listing the award and the grades of my final year courses. Has anyone else been through this and managed to somehow obtain such evidence? I graduated from what was then Glasgow College of Technology in 1988, so I doubt very much they will have any of this kind of thing on record, or will they?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

Hi
Have you checked the NZIS qualifications list, if yours is on there you do not need to have it assessed, so the nice lady told me today.
My partner has a HNC in engineering, appears on the list, so we dont need to have it assessed, saves us $75!
Good luck

Unfortunately, for some reason Scottish HNDs are not there, but English ones are. I'm sure they've assessed thousands of these things by now, perhaps it is just some money-making scheme.

Hi Billy
Having read another Scot's thread, it will need a preliminary assessment. Equates to about £29

Hi Billy
As Loulou has said, if it isn't on the list then you will need to have it assessed with NZQA.
For us, my partner Pete is a Psychiatric Nurse and so had to be registered with the Nursing Council of NZ. When applying for this he had to provide Transcripts of the course he undertook as well as providing evidence that he is a qualified practising nurse here in the uk. Re the Transcripts, he had no problems obtaining this info from the Uni he went to..but they did charge a fee...
Not sure if the job you will be applying for requires you to be registered with a body/board in NZ, but just something to bear in mind if you do!!
We also did a pre-assesment with NZQA as Petes qualies weren't on the list for EOI purposes, but when we submitted the pre-assessment they only wanted to know the qualification that was awarded, and from whom, and the establishment that he attended in his period of study. Once submitted we received an email back in a couple of days, with a ref number and the equivalent level/Quali that they recognise in NZ
Hope that makes sense..and haven't waffled on so much that you've nearly fallen asleep
