We have just been informed that our ship must be turbo charged or something and our furniture will arrive next week a whole 5 days early!!! :P

Despite the fact that originally it should of left the UK 4 weeks earlier than it did otherwise it would of been here by now, but never mind I don't care I just want my bed and sofa back!!! :laugh

Does anyone know what happens when it arrives I have already filled out the MAF and Customs forms which are being sent by our removals company this end to the relevant people tomorrow?

How long will it take from arrival at port to delivery to our door???

Hi Tara,

If all the paperwork is in order and there are no iff'y items in your consignment you may have it customs cleared and MAF cleared before it even docks...we did!

After sumitting your form for MAF and customs you will more than likely get get a call from a MAF officer with a couple of questions and as long as everything looks ok they have the power to clear it immediately without inspection.

Some consignments are randomly inspected howver and this can take a few days.

Offloading and clearance at port = 2-3 days after which delivery can be within a day or so provided transport is available.

If yours was a groupage shipment it could take up to a week to clear at the port and be ready for delivery.

Your shipment company can accuratelt advise you of current processing times.

Delivery cannot be arranged until the consignment is cleared...then you are at the mercy of the deilvery company!
