I was perusing a website of national statistics (http://www.nationmaster.com/country/nz/Crime)
and noted that NZ seems to have a surprisingly high rate of drug offences per capita, even higher than the US (almost 3 times higher than the UK). Auto theft is pretty bad, too - but the drug thing is disconcerting.

On a very positive note: NZ is almost dead-last in murders with firearms. :bobby

Thoughts, comments, experiences??

Thanks!

Hmmm

Is everybody too stoned to get wound up enough to kill anyone :eek :exit

Only joking.

I think much of the drug taking are what our police would turn a blind eye to. In NZ the police won't tolorate it and arrest them. In the UK because they the bobbies know they will hardly get any punishement its hardly worth filling in the paperwork.

I know this because one of my best mates is a policewoman.

I think its becuase there is more of a zero tolerance over here as opposed to the declassification in the UK and its okay to have it for 'personal' use.

Saying that P does seem to be a huge problem, not that I've seen only from reports on TV news and documents. To be honest I'd never heard of P before coming here.

(its a Purer blend of methanma..... err speed which is smoked. Not only does it give the user "Waves of pleasure" its a strong stimulant and gives you a high intese level of focus for sometimes days) - taken from a documentary on last week called 'high times - NZ drugs, which profiled the changing workd of NZ drug users & problem, :smile
