We are older folks going on this move and it seemed iffy if we could get a PR. My husband, already working in NZ on a 3 year work permit, wrote yesterday, that he is going to be given a PR, despite being 61 years old. He's working for the NZ govt and I guess they like his work.

So I think our 15 y.o. son and I (age 54) will go under the family stream...I'll have to call the Embassy and work this out.....

Anyway, it looks a bit easier now...though I'm totally intimidated by the cost of housing in Taupo....

Congratulations Ellen & family :clap

It's nice to know that NZ recognises the skills and experience older people bring. We're all going to get old eventually (some sooner than others ;) ) and many employers are very short-sighted in overlooking those not in the first flush of youth when recruiting.

Good luck with the family stream application - I expect as your husband has a job, you'll sail through.

Well done

Ria
