Just had feedback that our buyers buyers have not had their mortgage offer through yet. They are currently renting and there is a 2 week gap in the rental history that they have supplied to the building society. The building society are unwilling to budge unless that discrepancy is fully accounted for.
Appears they were away on holiday so they've sent some evidence off yesterday. Will be early next week now before I hear back ona yes or no basis.
This is a completely anal approach from the Building Society, but beware most of the people you will come in touch with when you sell your house are like this.....ie buttheads! :no
So, have to hold back on the resignation, another delay. B**ger! :wah

Thanks everyone for your well wishing and support. Just phoned our buyer's estate agent (cos ours is on holiday tomorrow and wanted an update if one was avail tomorrow). They explained that the delay is due to the fact the our buyers buyers do not have permanent UK residency yet. So naturally the lender wants to be completely sure of them.
My estate agent obviously knew this but did not want to tell me.
I would probably not have taken the chance on that mortgage being granted had i known and I would have gone with the first time buyer. Who knows what state i would have been in then, he's a relief chaf and would have to submit all his accounts etc to get a mortgage.
Anyway, fibbers and liars aside, hopefully we'll hear something soon.
Paul.....a very frazzled paul.

Hang in there ...... if anybody knows about stuffed up, complicated house sales - we do !!!!!!
Here we are now ....... in Palmerston. You better make sure you give us a yell when you arrive. If there's any way we can help out all you need to do is ask. It'll be great to see you. Just say the word.
If you need me to sort out a motel or collect you from the airport just sing out.
