Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels in the Havelock North or Napier area.

Hi Nicola,
When we first arrived in havelock we went to the small tourist info booth in havelock. We were recommended a place called knottypine cottages on the havelock road 5mins walk to the village. We just drove up and we were lucky they had vacancies, anyway it consists of 3 cottages each one larger than the next, in fact lavender cottage has 3 bedrooms its more like a home away from home has everything you need. Personally i found it to be much nicer than staying in a hotel room. You can have a quick look on the website www.hawkesbaynz.com then click on show me the deals, you will find the info for knottypine along with others.
Hope this helps

thanks for that advice. We have also seen a place called Woolshed Apartments that looks OK as well. They are on Te Mata road.

yes i pass the wooshed every morning on the way to school, when i drop my daughter off. They do look nice, in fact they are now trying to sell some of them off as furnished appartments. They are however on the main road which does get quite busy, during school hours, as you have havelock high and intermediate, plus hereworth boys school is directly behind the woolshed.
There are quite a few hotels actually in havelock village, but i can't really recomend them, only seen them from the outside. :laugh

Oh dear I wish I had read your reply last night. We have now booked at the Woolshed just for one week. Hopefully we will be able to pick up a rental quite quickly! If you know of any good companies that do rentals please do let me know.

You could always try Arataki Motor Camp - I think they have cabins and it should be reasonably cheap!
