Hiya
Forgive me fellow forummers, for I have sinned. It has been a while since my last post!

Life in NZ is just swell…..Awesome! Lots of things have happened in the past few months, stories of joy and woe.

We sold the house in June and things moved quickly…. Bad survey made the buyers pull out and we haven’t had a bite since.

I had put in for residency and was having fun being deferred for one thing or another, sent for more tests, blood tests, proof that Susan and I are still in a stable relationship, proof that she can speak English etc…

Last week I got the magic stamp in my passport, this time last year I had 55 points and not a cat in hell’s chance of PR…funny how things can turn out eh?

The files have been transferred to the London office and we are awaiting them to pull their finger out and give Jon and Susan the correct visa’s before they leave next week. It is very frustrating.

Kim, if you get chance drop me a line with who you spoke to, Susan just keeps getting some idiot that fobs her off instead of a case officer who knows what they are talking about.

By way of adventure there is nothing much to tell. Life is as mundane as ever but I’m still in holiday mode and I feel great. Susan and Jon finally join me after 7 months apart next week. We will spend our first few nights in Akl and we will also celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. I have the following week off so we can catch up together as a family again.

Susan took Penny (the cat) to the shippers today and is currently at a restaurant with close family as my brother goes on holiday tomorrow. I am sad that I’m not there with her to say my goodbye’s too, although it is not an enviable task and I think I got the better end f the deal.

There is a load more to tell, but I’ll leave it for now.

John.

Good update Rimbo.

I was only thinking the other day that it's any time now that Sue and John come out, it will be so good for all of you to be back together again.

Fergie has been asking when John gets here - I think he has plans of meeting up.

Congratulations on getting the 'golden ticket' in your passport, it must be darn frustrating for Sue to be getting through to the idiot at NZIS all the time, I hope that sorts itself out pretty soon too.

As for the sale of the house. I know how you feel. We were mucked around for 7 months by our 'cow bag' of a buyer. then our knight in shining armour rode in at the last minute and we completed the sale last Friday. If all can work out OK for us then it can all work out OK for everybody else, it just takes time - that's all.

Well take care, and have a great time when the family arrive. I'll be looking our for your postings letting us know how it's going. We'll be in touch regarding meeting up at some stage - when we're all abit more settled.

All the best.

Hi John

Good to read about your PR!! Hopefully the London office will get of their backsides and issue them to Sue & Jon too before they leave.

You guys must be counting the days now, before your back together again. Really chuffed for you that those long 7 months are almost over. Have a great time getting to 'know' eachother again (happy anniversary!!)

Will send you a PM soon with our update (Andy's coming out on 21st Oct).

Hugs to the 3 of you.

Good to see all is well then John. Noticed to had asked for me to drop you a line ref:NZIS, but now its all sorted, then great. The people we dealt with were in NZ and not London anyway, but i am sure they would have helped you to a degree.

Well it will soon become time for you guys to get back ontrack with the family life, so i wish you well with this, but make sure you tell Suzy that i will be tracking you down for 18 holes as soon as we get sorted over there. In the meantime bud, enjoy your last few days of the single life because all is about to change:p :laugh

Ian arrives on the 23rd Sep. Flights booked.

I'll update our thread so you can all read.

John,

Brilliant you can all be together, I know it has been hard for Susan on her own, you need to give LOTS of pampering you know.

Hope you get those elusive buyers soon.

Bootiful Sandra,
That is stunning. Sassy red then, as long as Jo does not find out how much we have!
Does Moxy have to use the door now?

Hi Rimbo
Glad to hear that your family will be together again and NZIS have given you that magic piece of paper. Hopefully we'll meet up when I get to New Plymouth in November. I've just enrolled my son into the competitive swimming club and partner John has already been invited to help coach in the judo club!! (he assists in our local club here!). My son's well chuffed about the swimming club - they have a 50 metre outdoor HEATED pool. How cool (or warm rather) is that. A guy at the judo club has offered to help us find a house and check out rentals before we arrive - our army of helpers on the ground is growing!! Apparently our impending arrival has been put in the judo club newsletter...sweet.
I bet you can't wait to see your wife and son!!!
