I'm relocating to Auckland in Jan 2005 and although I may be able to work with my present company as they are global (with an excelent repuation), I am interested in firing my cv off to some good companies in Auckland.

Any suggestions:

My background is: 30 years old. UK Sales management looking after several NAM's and all of the major Home improvement players in the Uk i.e B&Q, homebase, Focus etc and more recently the Office Supplies Channel. Total Turnover responsibility of over £21m uk Pounds.

I have a business studies degree as well as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Diploma as well as 8 years solid sales and marketing experience.

Hi Stu

Think you will find things on a much smaller scale over here. Why not look on a web site like www.seek.co.nz that will list jobs in your area of work although it then usually leads to recruitment firms

Ths big (ish) DIY chain over here is Mitre 10.

If you are sending of CV's done be suprised if you hear nothing we, and many others on this site have found that they dont take you seriously until you actually arrive.

If you have the chance to relocate with your present company that would be your best bet and maybe look for other things once you have arrived and are settled.

Placemakers, Carters, Bunnings and Warehouse, Mitre 10, for home improvement much like B&Q etc.

Electrical/electronic and whitewear, Bond and Bond, Noel Leeming.

Incidently the ex CEO of B&Q is now MD of The Warehouse (where everyone gets a bargain)...stack it high sell it cheap importer in NZ. Merchandise quality=variable!

PS Check out NZ Yellow pages for listings, then web sites, then NZ chamber of commerce for financial info. on the top companies!
