Imagine how excited I was to get an email earier this week asking for a telephone interview this week...... :raebanana sums it up! We arranged to have the call (company in Oz) at 15.30 Oz-time today, 17/8. That translates into 06.30 this morning on Cardiff-time. So, I carefully reset my clock (time and alarm time) after an unexpected power cut last night so I could shower, have at least two cups of coffee etc before the call. So, after a hiccup involving an early night interrupted by eldest daughter ringing at half past ten to say she was OK and at her friend's house, the alarm started. Groggy was the word as I fumbled for the off button. I thought I'd be cunning and put the kettle on before getting in the shower and as I stood at the sink filling said kettle, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the microwave clock had not been reset and was showing 00:00. I pressed the reset button, and it still showed 00:00. So I looked at the clock on the cooker, also 00:00. Cussing OH (happily asleep in bed) for not setting clocks with the diligence I had shown with my alarm clock, I went into the hall to check the time to put the kitchen clocks right.....and it was.....midnight :wah :wah Silly me, my alarm clock has a double alarm function, and I had put the wrong one on......
Hardly any sleep till 05.30 and time to get up and get ready. The interview lasted a good half hour and seemed to go well, so now wait and see!
I wish there was an emoticon for snoring, these matchsticks are snapping with the weight of my eyelids...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I had an interview last night also. It was at 10pm and lasted 3/4 of an hour. After that it took about 4 hours for my brain to calm down enough for me to go to sleep.

ready to go home to bed now! (it's 2pm!)

Worse still (for my sleep anyway) they said they would get back to me within 24 hours, which means another e mail or phonecall tonight.

Heart failure and total mental breakdown are but a small step away at the moment! At night I wait for job offers and interviews during the day for mortgage offers and exchange dates!

In between I sit in a corner and say bibble!

Hi Deborah

Gil is currently catching up on those zzzzzzzzs.

The company is Aussie owned, but branches in NZ where she would work (that would've been quite a commute otherwise  :

Cheers and good luck (Gary) with the interviews :nice1 and good luck you with your crossing and uncrossing stuff :D

[QUOTE=kiwidebs]Wow. All those interviews! Good luck to you all.

Yay, good luck to everyone who's doing the burning it at both ends thing! I have just woken up after a 2 hour nap! Probably about 160 winks according to my currency converter. Not sure I could do it again tonight though: good luck guys!! :clap
The interview I had was from Oz, but for their NZ branch. There would be maybe 1 or 2 trips per year to HQ in Oz , but otherwise the NZ branch is fully self sufficient.
We had the estate agent around today to measure up, and now need to decide if we have a board up outside. Only thing is, I haven't yet told my dad about our plans, and whilst he wears glasses, I think even he would spot the sign. :uhoh I feel a fireside chat coming on......
I think we'll be joining you Paul and Linda with the night time and daytime angsts!!
Still, it's gonna be worth it :D

One of the many things I love about this forum is when I read a comment and identify completely with what someone has said or does( At night I wait for job offers and interviews during the day for mortgage offers and exchange dates!) Sorry I don't know how to do the quote thing.
We do exactly the same.We also leave the Broadband on all night so we can check for Emails if we wake up in the night and listen to More Fm (Wellington) constantly. Now is that just us?

My OH has an interview next Thursday in Brighton .The MD of this Wellington company is flying over to see him.So next week will be our 'big day.'

We have equated it in importance to our wedding day and the births of our 3 children! No pressure then.
Good luck to you all , it is so comforting to know that we are all in the same boat.
Let us know how you get on
