It's nice out there, it's only 15 mins from here, we go on Sundays sometimes with the dog.

One word of warning, I hear the road from Maraetai to town can be shocking in the morning, if there is any problem or crash, the whole thing is jammed for hours

seriously though, are all the homes there that expensive, or can we find moderately priced homes also?

I first bought out here in 1990 but have only lived here for the last seven years and love it to bits.
I work from home so the traffic doesn't bother me and I haven't heard anyone complain about the traffic. My OH goes back and fourth several times a day and thinks nothing of it. If there was a serious accident yes, then the road has been closed. This hasn't happened a lot since I have been here though. The only time we normally have accidents is from out of Towners (As we say) that don't know the roads and who speed like anything.
The worse accident though happened just past the whitford Pony club 5 years ago and unfortunately it was my nephew who was killed & only 3 yrs.

Hi Annie,

Yes, I do live there (You can just see my roof) and yes the Houses are becoming more expensive.
we bought out hear years ago and it's always been a good place to invest money. Prices start at about $350,000.
