Hi guys,
We've been selected on Sept 29. Can anyone share with us how does NZIS do the verification process? What documents/info do they verify? Will I be required to submit orig copy of my IELTS, NZQA, birth cert., employment cert, etc?
I live here in Manila. Will the case officer be coming all the way from NZ or from their Manila office?
Thanks a ton.

Hi
Once they select you from the pool, they will do the initial verification.
This will take about 6 - 8 weeks (maybe more) and they might contact you to clarify some aspects if need be.
At this stage , you do not need to send any documents.
After the verification, they will either decline or if successful, send you a letter called Invitation to Apply. This letter will contain details as to what documents you need to send to them and the pack will also have a skilled migrant residence guide, and other information.
My pack also contained a very nice file folder with a CD rom called ' live and breathe in - a guide for migrants' and some other brochures on NZ.
You then send in all your supporting docs like qualifications, work experience, medicals, birth certificates etc as stated in the letter and guide, along with the application fee.
The processing time is roughly 3 months for this and often if you are overseas, it will be assigned to a case officer of the respective immigration branch.

Hi Abdul,
Thanks for the info :nice1 . Would you know where the verification will be coming from. Does Wellington do all the checking? Or would it be our local NZ embassy? There is an embassy here in the Philippines but they only entertain visitor's visa applicant.
Best regards,
Jinkee

Hi Jinkee
Most of the initial processing is done by the EOI team in Wellington. Then its gets passed on to the branch nearest to you ( if u are in NZ).
An officer will be assigned to your case and you will be corresponding directly with your case officer.
I dont know if yours will be processed at the NZIS in the Phillipines.
I suggest you ring them up.
regards
Abdul

Hi jinkee,
I talked to a someone working at the NZ embassy in Bangkok and he said that our papers (from the Phils) will be process by their branch. And he also said that all EOIs that were selected and verified to have passed their minimum score will receive an invitation to apply after around 30 days.
