Well my car (Daihatsu Pyzar) had been playing up, warning lights on that should not be on, so we suspected the alternator and took it to the garage, its a japanese import so we did not think spares would be a problem HAH!:wah

Well they confirmed our diagnosis, and eventually found a new one for $1400 (no I have not typed too many 0's), no second hand ones could be found, and one from japan would have taken 3 weeks.

They are currently trying to recondition the one I have, as even that is going to be around $600.

Grrrr, but it has to be done, so grinning and bearing it, and may have to dip into our UK emergency fund to pay for it:mad: , but thats what its there for I suppose.

Oh no, that is really a pain :no

I understand normally there are 6 months warranty if buying from the garage, are yours still valid?

Its a 2nd hand car Ivy, so no warranty. Just one of those things I guess, I am hastily touching wood here, but usually whenever we buy a car something goes wrong in the first few days/weeks, but both of ours here have been fine for months.

Moorf, like the idea, but its beyond a bit of Kiwi inventiveness with the old No 8 trick.

$1400    GULP!

Crikey Sal I thought a jap import would be cheaper on the parts. Which just goes to prove I know nothing now about cars.
