Well do I tempt fate or not................

We have sold the house. I wasn't going to post it in fear of it going tits up. But what will be will be. We have had 3 couples after the place. One backed out but I don't think he could get a mortgage, one couple loved the place kept putting in offers but hadn't sold thiers so we couldn't accept. Then this week we got an offer of full asking price from a couple who have sold theirs to first time buyers. Yippee.

Ian is running around like a headless chicken as we need to clear the garage and loft before he goes to NZ, which is now booked for 20th Sep. He returns home on 23rd Dec. Then we all fly out together on the 8th Jan.
Ian's mum and Dad are flying with us. They go out every other year and it's the year they go so they can help us with the kids etc. It's also one less good bye to say in Blighty. They will stay with Ian's brother Nigel in Tauranga first then come and visit us. I think our kids want to go with grandma and grandad to see their cousins so it might not be a bad thing as we can get the house sorted.

Talking of which, that is Ian's task when he gets there, to buy a house..............ladies do you think I am brave letting my husband who does not have a clue about interior design buy a house. Yes I want a million pictures sent over first before any transaction takes place. Our goods will be shipped so that they get there around the 10th Jan.

Ian leaves work today but he has took a 2 year sabbatical, so that means we have a safety net if it doesn't work out. He has his leaving do tonight so some friends of old will be saying goodbye, I am sure their might be some tears shed. you men make out you're tough but really you have a very sensitive side.

We are selling some stuff on ebay and doing a car boot on Sunday.
We have booked for Alton Towers at Splash Landings for 2 nights on 13th & 14th Sep as a surprise for the kids, They have never been to Alton Towers so that will be a nice bit Dad time before he heads off.

I have just rang Maylasia airlines they told me that if we are not stopping over anywhere on route to Akl then although the tickets say 20kg they will allow 30kg per passenger, which is good news.

Well thats all for now, oh apart from I have had a cough for 4 weeks, I think it's stress.

Jo

More brilliant news today. :raebanana

I'm sorry I've had to re-read your post. I though you said you are letting Ian BUY a house ON HIS OWN, without you being there. Brave no, completely bonkers yes.:laugh :laugh IF that was left to Gary we would be living in a minimalist bedsit.

Seriously it's great to see all these plans coming together. I'm Soooooo dead jealous too.

Excellent news Jo. :cheers:cheers

No worries about your hubby choosing the house, provided he uses the blokes' pre-agreed selection criteria.

1. Does house have a bar?
2. Is house within staggering distance of local pub?
3. Is there room for barbie and 20 mates?
4. Is the wall in the Lounge big enough for large plasma?
5. Is sound insulation between Lounge and wife's bedroom good enough to prevent waking her up when me and 20 minutes are watching football, rugby, cricket at 3.00am in the morning?
6. Is there room for a beer fridge?
7.
8.
...........
151. Will wife like it?

Hope that's settled any nerves your end.;)

Hey,

Great news for you lot, fingers and everything else crossed for you, hope to catch ian some time when he gets here, if Diny's not to far away maybe you could get her to give any house the once over, that way you'll get a female opinion.

You all take care and keep us informed, look forward to seeing you all again soon, (get some vicks for that cough)

Love

Jo and Ian, fantastic news, are you starting to feel a bit on the nervous side now that it is all happening??
I don't think I'd trust Kev to buy our home out there, we'd probably end up living in a rabbit hutch as long as he had a garage big enough for all his stuff!!!
Enjoy the next few weeks, it will fly past so quickly you'll think someone has speeded the clock up!!

Lots of love
