Kaikoura's Seafest celebrates sea food

Kaikoura's Seafest starts tonight with a night of music and seafood.


More seafood delights are on the menu tomorrow, with smoked eel, kina, paua, scallops, prawn cocktails, scallop pies, seafood burgers with mussel and kumera or paua and calamari and crayfish.

And those delighting on marine morsels will hopefully do so under blue skies, with the MetService forecast promising the forecast southerly will pass through quickly, leaving sunny skies.

Yep, we saw all the banners and ads for it when down there yesterday - unfortunately today is moving day so we couldn't have made it anyway...

23-24 April 2005 is the Bluff Oyster festival as well btw.

That reminds me - anybody who's thinking of going to the Bluff Oyster festival could maybe go south a little earlier and visit the 'War Birds Over Wanaka' show. Our mates went last year and said it was awesome. Old fighter planes flying low over the lake and lots of demo's and shows.

I liked the sound of it when they told me - it's maybe something worth looking out for.
