Yup, the time has come, I can still hardly believe it! We fly at the crack of dawn this morning, first to Hong Kong for a stop over then on to NZ. The last month has been a whirlwind - we really thought that once our container had gone and we'd moved in with my folks that we'd be able to kick back and relax for the final week or so - HAH!!! Don't you just totally underestimate how much there is to do?! I thought I was pretty organised, but we've been hard at it right up to the wire and still I'm having to leave things for my dad to do (sell my car, and air freight some stuff for us).

Whites were brilliant, top marks so far. Not everything fit in our 40 ft container.... eek!! They said not to worry, they'd squeeze the outstanding 3 pieces into another container. Next day we found some stuff they'd missed, so hubbie took them up to the depot - no probs, they said. Day after, we found some stuff WE'D missed... (!) omg! Again, hubbie whizzed them up there, again, no probs!! What stars. I guess we'll get all the additional stuff much later, but that doesn't matter.

My case officer also came through a treat and I got my blue stickers! So I'm all legal ;-) And yesterday (told you it was to the wire, didn't I?!) I got a holiday rental booked, so after we've visited family we have somewhere furnished to stay until our (first) container arrives. I think I'll even be able to keep the horse there which is another weight off my mind!

Whew! It's been so hectic (also squeezing in our leaving party, then lots of meals and lunches out saying goodbyes this last week) that I still don't think it's really sunk in what we're doing...! Right now I just feel like I'm about to go on holiday - that's what I'm telling my poor mum to think too. (I got up in the night last night, partly cos I couldn't sleep and also to check my email, only to find mum watching telly and bawling her eyes out...) Still they'll be over to visit early in the new year.

Anyway, that might be me for a while, til we get settled and have something new to report! Thanks for all the help and good advice from everyone / this forum - see you on the other side!!!

Good luck with the trip ..... the only time we got to relax was on the plane (thanks to sleeping tablets). The bit about your mum bawling her eyes out hit a note with me ..... that's been the hardest part for me.

I'm sure everything will go just fine for you, keep us posted and let us know when you've arrived.

All the best.

Boy oh boy, how your post is similar to how it went for us. All your last detailed plans get squashed, dinners out got cancelled, going to see her... got cancelled. It is a very very mad rushing time. It kind of irked me that i hadnt planned it a little finer , but things turn up and you just have to deal with them.

Have a good trip x:clap
