We are well and truly on our way now. We have been in Singapore for a couple of days and tomorrow night we will be in Auckland at last. I am really glad we booked the stopover in singapore as we are totally exausted and it is good to get a break.

The first part of our journey the drive down from Berwick to Manchester was by far the worst part. We were stuck in traffic in Newcastle for about 4 hours, which should have only taken 20 min. Arrived at the B&B in the dark and had to leave in the morning in the dark. So all my plans of letting the kids run off some steam after the journey went up the spout.

Singapore airline flight from Manchester was brill. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you have kids the inflight entertainment was invaluable.

We are staying at the Shangri La Rasta Sentosa. Which is great, have not had a chance to see much of Singapore as too tired to do anything but chill beside the pool.

I bet you can't wait to get to NZ! What is the hotel in Singapore like - we are planning on staying there when we come out.

The hotel is great. A bit tired decor wise in some areas, but mostly great. The staff, the service and the food are all brilliant. I would stay here again anytime. We arrived before checkin time and they let us have a room to rest in which was really great. Then they mixed up our reservation and did not give us the type of rooms we requested, but there was no problem them upgraded us to a couple of Garden rooms free. So we are right next to the pool.

You should be aware that the view is off a major shipping lane, but we are not bothered by this and there is not a lot of noise.

Not far now only the flight to auckland, then the drive to havelock, think you might rethink about stopping off somewhere.:laugh
Got a few numbers for rentals in havelock, one in particular sounds good, exactly what your looking for, 4beds, 2bathrooms, 2living area's, double garage all for $325week. Its a private ad so no agent fees. I will pm you once i find the advert with the tel no.
