Hi all
I've been looking at this message board for 2 weeks now. My hubby works for the Mail on Sunday and saw an ad for the New Zealand Herald requiring workers for their new Sunday Herald. He was turned down for that but ofered a job on the daily herald. We put in an EOI on 11th Sept ....got selected on 29th Sept....but now what?????
It's only this message board that's keeping us going right now.
I thought divorce was the most stressful thing in life...what scale is this on????
good luck to you all who have gone past my stage.....how did you do it while keeping sane?

Hi Sarah Jane
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the job offer :nice1
The process is stressful, but the dream was what kept me sane. Thinking about why we were moving and this is such a fantastic country that is all the motivation I needed to keep me going!!!
We came over on work visa's and are applying for PR from here seen as the points were so high when we did it so not sure what the routine will be in your sitaution, but I am sure someone will answer all your questions.
Good Luck ;)

Hello again!
Now you're selected you'll be sent a pack which is your Invitation to Apply, or ITA. Times vary as to when you actually get it in the post. You'll also be given details of your case officer with a direct dial number and email address.
Don't know how stressful divorce is, but if it's anything like marriage I'm dreading it! :laugh

Thanks Tara....you're over there I assume and happy with it. I've got butterflies in my stomach with the excitement of making the move.....just all the practicalities that are scaring me.....and earthquakes....what's an earthquake against moving??????

Hi Sarah,
Congratulations! The waiting is the worst part of the process.
How we put up with it? I sometimes ask the same question myself...
If it is any comfort, you'll be glad to know that you are not alone!

Shagen is right, Sarah. We're all on the same boat. :( Don't worry, everything will fall into place in due time. :hopeso Meanwhile, just relax and have a great time. :cheers

Sarah,
Don't know how your time schedule looks, but you can apply for a work visa for the time being.
You can also then conclude the whole immigration process from NZ.
(I would suppose you would have to change you adress details on the EOI)
Congrats on being selected :cheers

Hi Sarah,
Im just on my way back from NZ and I'm returning with a job offer.
5 wks ago we our EoI was selected from the pool (no job at time of submission)
I think the general consensus is
1. If the job is time dependant, i.e. definite start date soon-ish the best to go for the Work Visas and complete you Residency application once in NZ
2. If its a "whenever" open job offer, and you have issues like kids and house to sell then maybe attempt to complete the process here in the Uk. Bear in mind that could be 3-12 months!!
