I have just been thinking , whilst waiting for our visas to come through.Can you get a mortgage to buy a house(spread over the normal 20/25 years) if you are only at present on a 1 year or 2 year work visa?

We applied for our mortgage before the pr came through. They just said that they needed a 'bigger' deposit. :yes So yes you can get one.

We got an 85% mortgage whilst still on Work visa. We had to do some sweet talking, and give proof of assets etc (including those in the UK). Then when we completed the lovely girl at BNZ that had been helping with it said we could have had more if we had wanted!!!
