Adult medicals for less than £30 & Children under 12 less than £12.

If you are travelling via Bangkok or Singapore why not have your medicals done there.

There are listed hospitals for each country allowed by NZIS and the service, hospitals, professionalism, speed of service, speed of results and amenities knock spots off the UK. We had ours done in a hospital that was better than any public or private hospital I have ever seen. Hospital like a top class hotel & even has 5 restaurants in it!

Adult test inc x rays, blood etc = less than £30 each
Child Under 12 (without X-rays) = less than £12 each

This is for the medical form allowed I think up to 28 Nov 05?

Our family was done in approx 2.5 hours and then we picked the reports up the next day.

The following are the 2 hospitals I would recommend in Bangkok but I believe there are equally suitable hospitals in Singapore although maybe slightly more expensive.
Hospitals accepted by NZIS are all listed on NZIS internet site somewhere.
The hospitals all have their own www sites and you can make any enquiries to them by email (although sometimes you have to mark urgent to get a swift reply or send again)

We had ours done in the Bumrungrad which is like a hotel but if I was doing now I would probably prefer the BNH as a bit easier to get to and less busy.

Also you can normally just turn up and it gets done without appointment, although maybe better to make appointment if you can.
But all patients need to register at registration desk- It is free but maybe takes 15 mins to 30 mins. You get a credit card type registration with your name & hospital number etc..

I forgot to say- You could also save a fortune on dentistry in numerous specialist clinics at a fraction of UK or USA prices. But strangely enough the hospital dentist practices are quite pricey.
Many people get cleaning done for about £8 or £9 and you can get Laser whitening done for £150 to £200 but I believe the course may take some time.
Also if you need new lenses in your glasses bring them- eye tests are free in the optician shops and lens can be anything from £5 to about £15. I actually bought in bangkok 2 really nice pairs of sunglasses from the market stalls for £1.25 each and then had eye test at optician and they then replaced the lens with prescription ones. Cost me all in for 2 pairs (one sun shade prescription and the other tinted clear including the lens and tests less than £20. One word of warning - If you bring frames make sure they do not have too much of a curve in as that presents a problem for the new lenses.

Also in hospitals they offer a myriad of medical treatment mostly at a fraction of western prices so you could consider other tests or treatment.
And you will be amazed at the service and wonderful smiling staff and nurses etc..
But of course be careful- It is still a business and one must not forget the possibility of being suggested to have something done which may be for the money. No different from privavte practice anywhere in the world.
