Wow , talk about efficient! We took our 5 visa application forms to NZ House on Wednesday.Had a short wait of about 15 minutes. The chap took about 20 mins going through the forms. He told us that we should hear from a case officer in a few days and recieve a final decision in 3 - 4 weeks.
So we came home prepared for a nail biting wait , then........................................ :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana
Saturday morning 9 am recieved passports back with those lovely blue stickers. We worked out that it took 69 hours! I love it! :clap
We can really press on now, Paul will book his flight this week and me and the kids just , I say just! have to wait for the house to complete! Nearly there.........

Wow, that was quick. I'm sending positive vibes for a quick completion (especially if you return the favour and send the vibes back our way :D ) for your house!! When does your hubby have to be there - mid October wasn't it?

Keep us posted

Fingers crossed for us both eh?.Paul is due to start around the 17th Oct but intends to go out the week before to catch up with our rellys in Christchurch. He will then fly up to Auckland where he is going to learn about the business as a whole before travelling down to Hamilton or Tauranga (we haven't decided yet!) to find somewhere to rent initally.Unfortunately the company haven't given us any indication of how long he will need to be in Auckland so me and the kids may well be flying solo for a while.I'm just trying to be positive and treat the uncertainty as part of the experience!
When are you aiming to be out there?

We were hoping to be there mid-October but have a hitch with our house sale. Our buyer conveniently 'forgot' to mention the fact that her house is part owned by a housing association - meaning more paperwork and loads more time!! So her 'straight forward sale' is not as straightforward as we thought it was:mad: !!
We're now hoping to be there for Gemma's 4th birthday (21st November)!! It could all happen next week......or next year??? I just hope her buyer doesn't run now that she's taken so long (ours is the 2nd property she's tried to buy - the first fell through). So wish us luck!!

Do you guys have any preference on where to settle? Tauranga and Hamilton both have things going for them. There seems to be forumites all over the North Island these days so I'm sure someone will help out a bit if Paul is stuck in Auckland for a bit.

Look forward to hearing how it all goes.
