Well forumites, where to start? Hmmmmmmmmm
Yep, Gary had an interview tonight, 3 or 4 phone calls and then he pops his head round the door and says 'start looking for flights next month girl'.
So being obedient and all that, (NOT) I started looking for flights in October, calling out prices dates etc, when the head comes round the door again and says 'NOT next month, next monday' Arggggh. Yipppeeee. Laugh and cry, next week.
On the phone they have offered him 6 months contracting, with permanent at the end of that if they all like each other. The contract came through by email 30 mins later and they have sent off for his refs too. Can he start next week?
As you can see by the time, we were up until 1 o'clock flight hunting, then into bed and I couldn't sleep, so I'm up again with the midnight jolts and thunderbolts.
We need to call the case officer tomorrow and ask advice on how quick this can be done.
Need to call shippers and get quotes for 40 fter (instead or the original 20) inc 2 motor bikes, more house contents and find out how quickly can they come and do all this. ie tuesday might be good.
My head and stomach are spinning in that sicky nice kinda way and I want to ring everyone and tell them. But every one is asleep except me.
Our alternative is that G goes on his own and I pack up here, but neither of us want that:( . This is a major step in our life together and we want to do it together.
I'm thinking of saying goodbye to Scott and how much I will miss him (and the rest of the family including the inlaws who are fab). The sick feeling has got worse at this point.
So we will be in Windy Welly sooner than we ever thought possible (with the nzis god willing) and I don't even care if it snows there too.
Can we do all this in a week? We'll give it our best shot.
A very happy smiling sick smiler

Fantastic news Smiler - and hey, the speed of your departure might just make things a little easier than, say, if you had to hang around for a few months :nice1 - nothing like a deadline to get you motivated!!
Since you're up - get packing!! :D

Just a quick congrats - and hope you find some flights, keep us posted.
I once packed up our house in 3 days when they informed us of the wrong moving date (I thought I had another week)I had one 2yr old and a 6mth helping me but we got it done - I certainly looked like a mad woman at the end, as I hadnt bothered looking in the mirror (it was packed - ha ha) and my hair was a right mess! :D
any way with what the weather people are predicting were gona have a dreary winter that will last a long time and BG putting the gas prices up 14% Your certainly NOT going to miss the good ol' UK - are you.
:cheers Kat

Would you believe that my wife woke me up with this news? And, I might add, I wasn't ready to wake up. If she was that excited for you guys, imagine what it's gonna b elike when we get going!
It's simply wonderful news and I'm really delighted for you. I fully expect a sharp increase in sanity levels of the UK come next Monday which will of course correspond with a similar rise in the insanity levels in NZ. You are one mad individual Deborah and I'm not sure NZ is ready for you yet. (Note to Gary, make sure Deborah is bound and gagged when passing through NZ immigration).
Seriously, we're gonna miss you over this side, there's quite a sadness that so many people we've got to know on here are going, going, gone already. But we're not gonna be too far behind you and we look forward to seeing you on the other side real soon.
In the meantime, get the beers in :cheers:cheers:cheers

Shippers booked for Monday
Lovely Lovely Curtiss people ( £4,600). 40 fter, 2x motorbikes, car, 2 x cycles, and a lifetime collection of tat. No big furniture though except huge dining room suite and my new washer dryer.
The other quotes were £5,400, £5,600 and £5,800 so just a bit of saving there then. Enough for me to spend in hong kong yippee.
NZIS interview went well 10 mins or so, no trich questions, we shall know in a day or so if we have PR. Some one else has to check our case officers work and then we'll know. We can have an appt at kiwi house and out PP's are stamped with the magic stickers in an hour. OMG :raebanana
My parents have been here all day and we have found homes for all the garden stuff and Scott is having most of the tools that we are not taking. He'll have enough for his own company soon.
Mum got upset saying she has spent her life saying goodbye to people and I still can't figure out who. I've told her it's not goodbye and that they have phones in NZ too. I hope she could see how happy we are when G came off the phone after the interview. I sat and showed them wellington and houses etc on the lappy. my Dad said he would love to come out. :raebanana
We've cleaned all the bikes and tools. Tomorrow is loft day, skip comes Thursday and I think that will be theraputic.
If any of the above is spelt wrong sorry haven't got time to check.
THANK YOU for all your pm's and stuff. Will post when I can
